Featured Puzzle: Nonogram #1

Nonograms are probably my favorite shading puzzle. There’s just something about cross-referencing the vertical and horizontal clues to tease out a picture that appeals to me. Today’s puzzle continues the Hanukkah theme. I hope you enjoy it!

  • Shade cells according to the clues.
  • Rows and columns without numbers contain only unshaded cells.
  • Numbers indicate contiguous stripes of shaded cells.
  • Each group of shaded cells must be separated by at least one unshaded cell.

Happy National Trails Day! The first Saturday in June is a day to celebrate your local trail system and go for a walk. Today, you must examine the signs in the grid and deduce the route the trail takes. I liked the Castle Wall puzzle created by Palmer Mebane in 2009, and re-themed it as Trail Signs.
